IMPLEMENTATION OF DIFFERENT SCHEMES IN DISTRICT PLANNING OFFICE:

The following schemes are being implemented by District Planning Office, Sundargarh.

i)MPLAD

ii)MLALAD

iii)Untied Fund

iii)WODC (Western Orissa Development Council)

i)MPLAD:

This programme is being implemented since 1993-94 . The main objective is that Hon’ble M.P. can propose various development works within the guidelines to district administration for execution. The yearly allocation for each M.P. has been fixed at Rs.2.00 crores . Since inception of the programme this District has received Rs.40.05 crores out of which Rs.31.05 crores and 8.32 crores have ben allotted to different executing agency of SNG. District and to the Collector’s of outside District respectively. The M.P. wise physical and financial achievement is given below:-

Out of the above funds 376 nos. schools buildings 298 T.Ws. 314 C.Cs.,21Hospitals , 30 schools hostel buildings , 30 drinking water projects electrification to 14 villages, 13 small bridges & big bridges has been completed. Besides, supply of computers to 11 Education Institutions , supply of Ambulance to 6 Medical institutions , supply of Ultra Sound Machine to Bonai & Rourkela Govt. Hospital and 1 “X”-Ray machine to Panposh Govt. Hospital have been completed .

In the mean time the terms of 2 Rajya Sabha M.Ps. has been expired from 2.4.2002 and Sundargarh District has one Rajya Sabha M.P. and one Loksabha M.P.

II)MLALAD:

This programme is being implemented since 1997-98. The main objectives are that Hon’ble MLAs. Of the District can propose various developments works as per the guidelines to District administration for execution of the project/ proposals. The yearly allocation of funds for each MLA i.e. starting from 1997-98 has been increased annually & reached at Rs.40.00 lakhs per MLA during the year 2001-02 . By end of 2001-2002 , the District has received a sum of Rs.665.00 lacks of funds under the scheme.

iii)UNTIED FUND:

This programme is being implemented since 1985-86 . The main objective of the programme is that small but essential Development projects can be taken up under the scheme. The maximum project

Costis of Rs.1,00,000/- in cash of normal grant & Rs.50,000/- (75.25 of Govt. share & peoples contribution) for incentive grant .

Since 1997-98 onwards the Zilla Parishad members can propose project/proposals for various development works to the District administration as per the guidelines for execution of the projects under this scheme.

iv)WODC(Western Orissa Development Council)

WODC has sanctioned the amount of Rs.360.82 Lacks for improvement of 20 round Projects , 2 M.I. projects. Further, WODC has sanctioned Rs.70.55 lakhs for sinking of 170 Tube Wells out of which 85 Tube wells have been completed with the allotted amount of Rs.35.00 lacks. Further for infrstructure development 53 High Schools & colleges a sum of Rs.68.00lacks has been received .a sum of Rs.21.00 lacks has been released to different executing agency for infrastructure development of 13 high schools and 4 colleges by April’ 2002. Further , it has been proposed to construct 31 L.I. projects in phased manner in Sundargarh District.
